Korina McKinley, MSW, Associate Clinical Social Worker, is a lifelong native of Salinas, California, a proud mother, case manager, and community organizer committed to healing and systemic change.
Korina has a strong background in reentry and housing support for formerly incarcerated veterans, with expertise in trauma-informed care and crisis response. She has facilitated healing-centered groups, mentored system-impacted youth, and partnered with local high schools to advance culturally responsive education through the implementation of ethnic studies curriculum.
She has experience in Participatory Action Research and has conducted extensive research in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) implementing neuroscientific studies. She holds two Associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Psychology, a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Social Work, and a Master's of Social Work, grounding her practice in both science and compassion.
As the founder of Roots of Resistance, The People’s School, Korina aims to create accessible education and mutual aid projects that address racism, incarceration, colonialism, and elitism while building networks of care and solidarity.
